Christian Radio

This blog has been established to talk about Christian Radio (the industry) and to encourage those who are working in the industry. I would like to talk about news, music, programs and whatever else comes up. My goal is to get listeners and the professionals to talk about the issues to help make the ministry even better and stronger. Tell all you know about this blog.

Have you ever written about nothing?

I feel like posting tonight, but I really don't have much to talk about. I guess I'll talk about my Sunday.

I went to church this morning and was on the 'worship' team. It went pretty well, but I did blow it. After the solo, I was going to ready a few verses that went along with the soloists song, which I did. But, then, I was supposed to say something like, "Now let's listen to Chris sing the firs verse of an old hymn of the the children go to 'promise land' (children's church). But, I totally forgot about Chris. Since Chris was supposed to sing by himself...there were no words on the overhead all sang with him...since I never said what I was supposed to say.

Then, in the evening my family went to Maranatha Bible and Missionary Conference Center to hear Joe Stowell. I'm sorry to say I was disappointed. I've always enjoyed, doctor Stowell, but I didn't this time. He talked about the sovereignty of God. He says God IS sovereign and has a providential plan, but he allows people to make their own choices...own decisions.

While many people believe this is true, I don't. The Bible clearly teaches He's sovereign over ALL things, not just most things. If He's not soveriegn over all, he's not God. I have a hard time believing that God is sitting on His hands hoping and praying that we make the right decisions. I truly believe he gives us our very next breath and that's He's even sovereign over the fact that He ordered this e-mail to take place.

But, I'm sure there are others who disagree with me. But, that's okay. You'll see I'm righ when we get to heaven. That is...if you made the right choices, decisions, etc, in order to get there. ;)

Now now...somebody who sees God from a different angle could say:

Of course God IS sovereign. He is SO sovereign that His will cannot or will not be altered by whatever idiotic choices these fallen humans make. His providential plan is not altered one iota regardless of the decisions people make (or fail to make).

That's what makes his sovereignty so awesome. He's still sovereign over all things, even when we refuse to follow his plan.
